Colour Create Challenge #26

Good morning everyone.
It's hard to believe it's time again for the Colour Create Challenge. I don't know where these days go...but they sure fly by.
The beautiful colours for this challenge are brought to you by Chris and she has chosen "Ruby, Cream and Gold". The optional extra is "Gems".

Here is a little inspiration to get you started.
The prize this week is a $25.00 gift voucher from "Simon Says Stamp".

I thought these would be great colours for a Christmas card, so I used my new Flourishes Pointsettia and Boxwood set.

I embossed the image with gold 3 times and painted them with Tombows. I cut out and layered some of the petals. The cream pieces have been embossed with my CB holly folder. The card was embossed with my CB swiss dots folder. The circles were cut with my nesties. I cut the corners from a 1" square. The borders are cut with my Martha Stewart punch. I went a little wacky with the gems, but what is a Christmas card without lots of bling.

Be sure to stop by the CCC blog to see some fabulous creations from the rest of the DT. I hope you will be able to play along with us.

Have a great day...Thanks for stopping by...

The Pink Elephant Challenge #29

Hello everyone;
Well it has been almost 2 weeks since my last post....I took a much needed rest. We have had some really nice weather lately, so I thought I better take advantage of it while it lasts.

I made this card for The Pink Elephant challenge. The challenge this week is a sketch. Don't ya love it when half the work is done for us...lol!!
The image I have used is "Popcorn the Bear"...."Birthday Hugs".

I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I used my white Inkssentials pen for the highlights. I embossed and painted the bow and tag again, cut them out and layered it. The yellow band was embossed with a CB folder. The paper from DCWV. I used stickles to glue down the dew drops, I like the sparkle effect it gives.

I have been having a lot of fun with these new stamp sets. The set I used for this card is "Thinking of You".

The images are embossed with black and painted with Tombows.
I used my CB swiss dots folder for the circle.I just love these back and front images. I cut them out and layered them on the edge of the card.

"Popcorn the Bear" stamp sets are now in Canada at The Rubber Room and can be shipped worldwide through The Rubber Room on-line store .

Have a great day, Thanks for stopping by....

Colour Create Challenge #25

Good morning everyone;
It's time again for another Colour Create Challenge.
The colours this week are Blue, Black, Sand and Silver, with an extra option of Summertime.

For a little inspiration here is a pic for you. The fabulous prize this week is sponsored by "Handy Hippo". There are 5 vouchers to give away!!

The image I used today is by Penny Black and the stamp set is called "Teddy & Company".

I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I used a Gelly Roll metallic silver pen for the accents on his shirt and the centers of the flowers.I used my Inkssentials white pen for the dots, doodles and highlights. I also used some silver stickles on the tall grasses. I used my mega nesties curved rectangles for all the card layers. The image layer, the sand layer and the blue card are the die sizes and to achieve the thin layers I glued them to the pieces of DP and cut them by eye. That's why, if you look close they are not perfect and may be a little crooked....lol!!The flowers are Prima's. I also stamped some extra butterflies, cut and layered them.

Be sure to stop by the "Colour Create Blog" to see the fabulous creations by the DT, and give a warm welcome to our newest member Deanne, who by the way makes the most beautiful creations, very rarely using stamps!!

I hope you will have a chance to play along with us, you have to weeks to "getter done"!!

Have a wonderful day,
Thanks so much for stopping by....

A Spoon Full of Sugar #64......GDT card

Good morning everyone,
I was asked by my sweet friend Nikki to be a guest DT this week for her challenge blog...A Spoon Full Of Sugar. This weeks challenge is a fabulous sketch by Camilla. I have turned the sketch to fit my image.

This image is "Popcorn Bear" and I thought it would be great to use as I purchased the stamp set from Nikki's shop...Bunny-Zoe's Crafts. I absolutley adore these little bears!!

I embossed the images with black onto water colour paper. I painted them with Tombows. I used my white Inkssentials pen for the white highlights. I also added some stickles. The DP is from a DCWV paper stack. The border punch is from MS and I used my nesties to cut the circles. I stamped the sentiment with Stazon black onto some white shrink film, cut the edges with my fancy scissors and shrunk it.

I hope you like it!! Be sure to stop by the SPOS blog to see the gorgeous creations the DT has come up with to inspire you!!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous day.

Flourishes...Fit for Royalty Challenge

Hi everyone;
You know the saying " Be careful what you wish for".....well we wished for heat and did we get it!! The temp was 31C with a humidex of 42C with thunderstorms on the way. Thank goodness for air conditioning...cause it is HOT!!

Flourishes has a fabulous challenge going on to celebrate their 2nd birthday. The challenge is to create a card "Fit for a King or Queen".
I am a little out of my element making cards with a lot of glitz, but I thought I would challenge myself and give it a try.

The images I have used are from the set "Chairs for You".

I stamped the images with Perfect medium and embossed them with gold. I painted the images with Tombows. I cut the dog out and layered it. I painted the chair with a Gelly Roll metallic gold pen. The white gems on the chair frame and dogs bed are done with white Liquid Pearls. The sentiment was stamped with black Stazon onto shrink film and shrunk. I used Perfect medium on the back of the sentiment and dipped it into gold embossing powder and heat set. It's really hard to see the sentiment as it is small but it says "missing you" and it is from a set from Inkadinkado. The DP is from Graphics 45. The glitter flourishes and pearls are from my stash.

I hope you like it
Thanks so much for stopping by, I truly appreciate you taking the time to leave such wonderful comments.

1 Card....3 Challenges....Friends

Hello everyone;
I can't believe how fast this week has gone by. I know we had a holiday on Monday...but come on...Friday already!!

I have been working on a card that I hope fits 3 challenges. The first one is "Timeless Tuesday #27" by Flourishes. Their challenge this week is to use some metal hardware on your card. The next challenge is "A Spoon Full of Sugar #63" and their challenge is "Floral Fantasy". The last one is "The Pink Elephant Challenge #26" and their challenge is a recipe.....3 brads, 1 flower and designer paper.
Whew...that was a lot to say...LOL!!

The fabulous image I have used is "Sweet Peas" by Flourishes.

I stamped the images with black Memento ink onto smooth water colour paper and embossed them with clear powder. I painted them with Tombows. This colour combo is one of my very favorites. I used part of the small sweet pea image for the sentiment and stamped "friends" with black and embossed it with clear onto a piece of acetate. I then cut and fit them into the metal frame. I used my Inkssentials pen for the highlights. I used my MS doily lace punch for the border. The designer paper is from the Paper Company. I added some waterfall stickles to the flowers.

I hope you like it
Thanks so much for stopping by....

I stamped the image with Memento black onto smooth water colour paper and embossed it with clear powder. I used my Inkssentials pen for the highlights. The flower centers are white liquid pearls. The yellow bg is embossed with a CB folder and the waves are done with my EK Success punch. The circles have been cut with my nesties. I pierced the blue scallop with a piercing tool. The sentiment was stamped onto shrink film with Stazon black and shrunk with my heat tool. The corners were cut by hand from a 1" square.

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #42

Hello everyone;
It's pretty hard to stay in the house the last few days...the gorgeous weather has finally arrived. YAY!!

This weeks High Hopes Challenge is brought to us by Jeanne and she has chosen "Go For The Gold". It can be gold paper, brads....whatever you have that's gold!!

The image I have chosen is the "Nutcracker".

I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I used my white Inkssentials pen for the highlights. I used my Gelly Roll gold metallic pen on the buttons, trim on his jacket, shoulder pads and hat. I used gold eyelets and gold brads to hold the sentiment on. The sentiment was stamped onto acetate with Stazon black. It's hard to see the sentiment in the pic, looks fine in real life. I added glue and white flocking to his hair, beard and mustache. The fabulous designer paper is from Graphic 45. I used a cb folder on the red cardstock.The card front is smaller than the back and it opens by undoing the ribbon.

I hope you like it and Thanks so much for stopping by.
