Surprise Lily

Hello all...
I hope you are all having a great week so far. I decided to play along with a few challenges this week. I created this card for this weeks Creative Card Crew challenge, which is an awesome sketch by Sharon. It also fits in with the Spoon Full of Sugar challenge this week, which is blue and green.

This image is Lily from Pink Cat Studio.
I embossed the image, twice with black and colored it with Tombows. I cut out all the presents and layered them. I used my MS border punch and embossed the same piece with a CB folder. The circles have been cut with my nesties. The little white flowers were punched and layered. The papers are from a DCWV mat stack. The sentiment is stamped with Stazon onto acetate. I also used lots of stickles.

I hope you like it.

Pawsitively Fabulous

Hello everyone;
How do you like the new look? I thought it was time for a change....so here it is. The header is not exactly what I wanted but it will have to do until I find something else that I like better.

In my blog travels this morning I came across Inspirational Card Sketch blog and decided to give it a try. I just loved the sketch....so here is my take on it. I don't do too many sketch challenges so I hope I got it right...LOL!!

The image is from Pink Cat Studio...Dog Plate 1. The whole set is just adorable.
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I used stickles on the fluffy parts of her fur. I used my CB folder and my new EK Success Fleur de lis punch. How appropriate for a french poodle...eh!! I punched the flowers and added some little gems. The ovals were cut with my nesties.

I hope you like it.
Have a great day, and Thanks for stopping by...

HIGH HOPES CALLENGE #28

Good morning everyone;
We had a beautiful hot day yesterday. Just as our workshop was wrapping up, around 4pm, so was the weather. What a storm we had!! The lightning was awesome (for those who love storms) and it just poured rain for hours. Crazy weather, but at least it's warm.

Today's High Hopes challenge is brought to you by Amy and she has chosen "Thinking outside the card". Creating something other than a card is such a fun challenge!!

A friend of mine had given me this adorable tool box pattern and the first thing I thought of was the HH new release "Carpener Ant" and "You're Handy, Man" images. I love all the detail Crissy added to this image, it was so much fun to paint!!

I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I used Gelly Roll metallic pens for the nails and tools. The tag is made from acetate and I pierced holes around it and added some faux stitching. The sentiment is stamped with Stazon. I used a piece of cardboard to make the ruler and I added the ruler ribbon with double sided tape. The pattern is from Mel Stampz. I changed the pockets from 3 to 2, as I wanted them a little larger than the pattern. The paper is faux suede from the Paper Company. Instead of using tissue paper inside, I used some pages from a book of house plans I had. The little tools are from my stash.
I am really happy with the way it turned out.

My daughters just loved it and want to give this one to their Dad for Father's Day.
Also, for the local ladies it is going to be a class at The Rubber Room in May!!

I hope you will be able to join us for this fun challenge this week.
Have a great Sunday and "Thanks" so much for stopping by...

BUSY MAMA

Good morning all,
I just have a quick post for today as it is toooo nice to be inside. The sun is beaming and the temp is supposed to hit 18. Tomorrow is going to be 27 here in Southwestern Ontario..."yikes"...from one extreme to the other. I am not going to complain though, because I have been freezing for the last 5 months. So in the sun I will be today...LOL!!

This adorable image is High Hopes "Busy Mama".

I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I used a little liquid applique on her hair and some flocking on the baby bunnies hair. I punched the flowers and layered them. The sentiment has been stamped on acetate. If you can imagine...there are no stickles...ack...what was I thinking!!
A really quick and easy card.
I hope you like it.

I will be back on Sunday with another fun challenge from
High Hopes. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Pea and Darcie's

What a busy week, but fun! So many new products to play with!!
Pink Cat Studio has finally arrived and this adorable image is "Sweet Pea".

I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I cut out and layered sweet pea. I used my MS border punch for the outside edge and my new EK border punch for the inside edge. I used my scallop nesties behind the baby. The little buttons are made from stamps in the set, stamped with Stazon onto white shrink film and then heated. The sentiment is stamped with Stazon onto acetate. I also added some stickles.

I also had a chance to play with some of the new Darcie's stamp sets. For this set I made a tri-fold card. The fabby DP is also from Darcie's.

I embossed the images with black and painted them with Tombows. I used my nesties for the frame behind the flowers.

The pockets and tags were stamped colored and cut out. I glued the pockets to the panels and added the buttons. I stamped the sentiments onto each tag with Stazon.

There are so many stamps in each set, its hard to choose which one to use first...lol!

The "High Hopes new release", Pink Cat Studio sets, Ek success new border punches, Copic markers...and so much more is available at the store and on-line at The Rubber Room.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by...

High Hopes Challenge # 27

Good morning everyone;
I hope you are enjoying your weekend. We had a beautiful day yesterday, warm and sunny, just perfect!!

This weeks High Hopes challenge is brought to you by Kimmie and she has chosen "Distressing". I don't usually do too much distressing on my cards, so this was a fun challenge for me.

For todays challenge I have chosen "Gordon Groundhog". Is he not the coolest groundhog...ever!! He just seems to have that male thang goin' on and the sentiment is so perfect. Definitely one of my favorites!!

I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I stamped the flower twice and cut out one and layered it. I used my nesties labels for the image and background. The DP is from Imaginisce. I sponged some brown ink on the edges and cut the tag with my spellbinders tag die. I also added some stickles.

I hope you like it and Thanks for stopping by.....

HIGH HOPES HULLABALLO.....Day 3

Hello everyone;
Well, it's Day 3 of the High Hopes Hullaballo. Aren't the new release images fabulous!! Crissy has created the most darling little girls and the cutest bugs...ever!! They will be available Sunday April 19th in the High Hopes catalogue.

I have been itchin' to make another bind-it-all album for ages. When I saw these adorable little girls in the new release I couldn't resist! I haven't used my Zutter for so long... almost forgot how to use it...LOL!

This is the cover page and I have used these adorable Slumber Party girls.
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I cut the image out and layered it on DP from BasicGrey Eva paper pack. The letters and swirls are chipboard I painted with Adirondack gold acrylic paint. I add the doodles with a white gel pen. I used my nesties for the layers behind the letters. I punched the flowers with my MS hydrangea punch.

I made the envelope for the inside cover to hold some "Stuff". Everygirl has that...right!! I don't know where I got the embroidered paper.
This adorable image is Pajama girl and Pajama Party. All the DP is from the same paper pack. I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I used my MS border punches through out the album.

This last awesome image I used is Rocker girl. I also embossed her with black and painted her with Tombows. I just love the paper behind her. I cut around the swirls and just glued the edges to make a CD holder. I covered the cd with a label and embossed "You Rock" with black. I also added some stickles here and there too.

I hope you like it....I had a great time making it.

HIGH HOPES HULLABALLO....Day 2

Well, I was right....wasn't I. You did love the new release sneak peeks yesterday. Wait until you see what we have for you today. More fabulous images for you to adore!!

My card today is Crissy's gorgeous new release flower. We won't know the official name until the new release hits High Hopes website Sunday April 19th.

I love to do paper tole and when I saw this fabulous flower, that was my very first thought. I embossed the image 6 times with black. I totally painted 1 image for my base. I colored only certain petals of each of the remaining embossed images. Now the fun begins. Starting from the back of the image you have to choose which petals to layer first. I used blobs of silicone for the layering. I had to stamp just the flower center 3 times and emboss them. Same deal for the layering of the center. When both were completely dry I attached the center to the flower. I also added some stickles. It's really hard to see, but I added some glossy accents on the front petals to look like dew drops. The DP is from the paper company.

I added this pic to show you the dimensions on the flower.
I am really pleased with the way it turned out. I hope you like it too!!

HIGH HOPES HULLABALLO....... Day 1

Hello everyone;
I am so excited to be part of Day 1 of the of the High Hopes Hullaballo.....sneak peeks of a brand new release. This adorable Cup Cake Ant is just one of the fabulous new images created by the super talented Crissy, #1 Artist for High Hopes Rubber stamps. Now if you love this one as much as I do, just wait until you see the rest.....they are just amazing!!

I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. The chocolate icing is colored first and then I added brown liquid applique and heated it to puff it up. I added some glossy accents to the sprinkles on the icing. I cut the ovals with my nesties and embossed the yellow cardstock with a CB folder. I braided the ribbon...I was hoping it would look like icing border, not too sure if I achieved that...lol!!
The fab sprinkles and icing papers are from Darcie's. Dropped on a few dew drops and some stickles and there you have my first ever High Hopes new release sneak peek.

The other Diva's have some awesome cards to share with you too, so sneak on over and take a peek.....

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #26

Happy Easter Sunday to you all!! I hope you are all having a fabulous Easter weekend.
We are having some beautiful weather, still a little nippy, but the sun is gorgeous.

High Hopes challlenge #26 is brought to you this week by HH's amazingly talented #1 artist....Crissy. The challenge she has chosen is "Pierce it". Now you can pierce it any way you like, just make sure you have holes in it....LOL!!

I have chosen this adorable image "Summers Sweetness" and "Thanks a Melon" for my card.

I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I dabbed dots of color onto the sentiment and washed it with water to make the marble effect. The little roses in the corners were stamped twice and I cut out just the rose and layered them. I used my CB paisley folder for the yellow background and pierced the holes with my ornare piercing tool. I layered it onto the orange piece that was cut out with my nesties and pierced the holes in the edge.
I chose a fancy front for the card itself and the beautiful designer paper is from Darcie's. I added the pic of the card open to show you the fancy front. Of course I have added some stickles.

I hope you like it......

Be sure to stayed tuned to the High Hopes blog this week....get ready to see some sneek peeks of the new release starting April 16- 19th. The new release will be available to purchase on Sunday the 19th. I must say, Crissy has come up with some fabulous creations ...."You will LOVE them"!!!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by...

Watercolor Class

Good morning everyone;
I hope you all had a great start to your week. I knew we were in for something yesterday as I woke up with a raging headache. It was raining and cold and sure enough it started to snow!! I am like a barometer...I can tell you when it is going to storm, without fail. I should be a weather forcaster for the local news....LOL!!
Warm weather is on its way for the weekend...I hope!!

I wanted to share the cards we did for our watercolor class on Saturday. Both the cards are done with High Hopes stamps. Fabulous stamps for watercoloring and they are also adorable!!
This image is "Bunny Bloom".
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I used liquid applique on the tail and little tuft of hair.

This is the other card we did. The image is "Funny Farm".
The animals are smaller in this stamp, so it was a little more challenging.
The image was also embossed with black and painted with Tombows.

We had a great time and the ladies did fabulous work.
Hope you like them.
Have a great day and Thanks for stopping by...

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #25

Good morning everyone;
I hope you are all having a great weekend so far. I finally had time to sit down last night, whew! it has been hectic. We had a fabulous class yesterday....all the ladies did an amazing job of their cards!! I will post them later in the week.

It's time now for this weeks High Hopes Challenge brought to you by my fellow High Hopes Diva...Jeanne. I can't believe I got to say that...I'm still on cloud nine, so please bear with me....LOL!! Jeanne has designed an awesome sketch for this weeks challenge.

This is one of my favorite HH images, "Birthday Buzzard".
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I used some icicle
H20's around his neck and silver metallic gelly roll pen on the stones. Of course there are some stickles too! I just love this paper but I can't remember the company it is from, ooops sorry. I cut the circles with my nesties and added the doodles with my inkssentials white pen. This fab brown piece, believe it or not, is a piece of cork. It has a sticky back on it which was just perfect to attach it to the black. Cathy had given it to me ages ago, I will see if I can find out who makes it.
I also cut it with my nesties. I cut out the image and managed to cut off one of the strings to the balloons, so I added some wire in place of them. I printed the sentiment by hand. It is also layered with a piece of cork. I added a few black dew drops too. I am happy with the way it turned out.

So pop on over to the High Hopes blog, check out the other fabulous cards from the Diva's and join in the challenge. The prize for this weeks challenge is "She-Baa Sheep" and "Thank Ewe sentiment". Just link your card back to the High Hopes Blog to be eligible to win these fabulous HH stamps!!

I hope you all have a great Sunday and Thanks so much for stopping by....

Q.T Hooty....!!

Hello everyone.....
What a busy week this has been for me. I would like to say I am looking forward to the weekend, but tomorrow I am teaching a watercolor class, so my weekend will be a little shorter than usual. That's ok though...we always have a great time.

This little cutie...Q.T. Hootie is a stamp from Pink Cat Studio. We couldn't resist these adorable stamps. So as you can see I am having some fun with them.

I embossed the image 4 times with black and painted them with Tombows. I cut out and layered the owls with silicone. The next layer is just the hats and the 4th layer is the flowers. The fab designer paper is also new this week from Darcies. I used my MS flower border punch. I used foam tape on the top border so it would look somewhat like an awning. I used an EK punch for the fern and the flowers. I used a little bit of stickles on the hats and flowers. I painted the eyes with icicle H2o's.

I took this second pic to show you the layers, as it is really hard to see them from the 1st pic. I hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend...
