Happy Canada Day to all you Canucks out there in blogland.
Most of us are enjoying a day off today....hopefully the rain will give us a break. It has been one wet spring and summer here, but at least it's not white and the grass looks great!!!
This is a new image from Motivet Rubber Stamps, just in time for Canada Day. So as you can see I couldn't resist inking it up for you all.
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I did the flags again and cut them out and layered them. I couldn't get the effect of the flags I wanted at first so as I colored them with my Tombows I quickly dipped them in clear embossing powder and heat set. Lo and behold it stuck just fine and I was pleased with the shiny result. The shoes are painted with a Gelly roll black glaze pen. The white highlights are done with my Inkssentials white gel pen.I did the same technique on the hat band. I found some sheet music on a Canadian web site and printed it onto red card stock. I traced a maple leaf from a template onto the music and cut it out. The circles are cut with my Nesties.
On a personal note, I would just like to say how blessed my family and I are to live in this beautiful country, a small part of the free world. We have endless opportunities and privileges, thanks to those who came before us and those who serve to protect us now. So on this special day of celebration, as I spend time with my family and friends, I will give Thanks for what we have been blessed with and wish for Peace and Freedom for those who are not as fortunate as we are.
Thanks so much for stopping by.....
Have a Wonderful Day

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #37
Good morning everyone;
Hope you are all having a great weekend. The weather here has been wonderful, the sun is shining, flowers are in full bloom, who could ask for more!!
Well it's time again for the High Hopes Challenge. The challenge this week is brought to you by the lovely Lacey and she has chosen "Stars or Stripes".
I went a little out of the box with my card, as I decided I would use some tiger stripes. A stripe is a stripe...right!! These adorable images are "Timothy Tiger" and "Palm Tree".
I embossed the images with black and painted them with Tombows. The white highlights have been done with my Inkssentials pen. I used some white flocking on his toes, chest and chin. I used glossy accents on his nose. The black oval was done with a cuttlebug folder. I wrapped and curled some black wire around the bow knot and added a couple of stars. The designer paper is from Darcie's. I also added some Stickles.
I hope you like it and be sure to stop by the other Diva's blogs and have a gander at their amazing creations. I hope you get a chance to play along with us this week, there are some fab High Hopes stamps up for grabs.
This is my last week as Guest Design Diva for High Hopes. What an amazing experience it has been for me, to hang out with the Divine High Hopes Diva's and design with HH's awesome stamps..."Wow"...let me tell you....it was sooo much fun!! I had a blast...Thanks ladies!!
Have a great Sunday,
Thanks so much for stopping by...

The Pink Elephant and Penny Black Challenges
Hello everyone;
What fabulous weather we are having in Southwestern Ontario. The sun is beaming and with all the rain we had this spring, the gardens are just beautiful. Sorry for my lack of blogging this week, DH is home from work for the next few weeks, recouping from his accident last Monday. He is doing well, won't be dancing any time soon, but things look good.
This weeks challenge at The Pink Elephant is a fabulous sketch so I thought I would combine it with the Penny Black Challenge which is "Embossing".
This adorable little Hedgie is from the Penny Black set "Tiny Wishes"
I stamped the image with black Versa fine and embossed it with clear EB powder. I painted it with Tombows. I used my white Inkssentials pen for the highlights, dots and doodles. I used my nesties for the circles. The sentiment is stamped with Stazon black onto shrink film and heated and shrunk. The flower centers are white liquid pearls and I also used some stickles.
I hope you like it.
I am slowly working my way
around to your blogs, I don't
want to miss any of your fab
creations....Thanks so much for
stopping by.
Have a great day...

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #36
Good morning everyone;
I hope you are all having a great weekend so far. I think the weather has finally made a turn, we are expecting some very hot days this week. The A/C will be running full blast!!
It's time for this weeks High Hopes Challenge. This weeks challenge is brought to you by Jeanne and she has chosen "Use up those scraps". I have been wanting to try a new to me technique and what a perfect time to do so...thanks Jeanne!!
I am using the adorable "Mildred" on my card.
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I stamped, embossed and cut out another pie top and layered it. The highlights have been done with my Inkssentials pen. For the new to me technique I used a piece of double sided adhesive sheet. I stuck it down onto a piece of white card stock, cut the pieces of dp and stuck them on like a mosaic. When it was complete I covered it with white glitter. The glitter stuck to the spaces between the pieces. I used my MS doily punch for the border and my EK Success punch for the border behind it. I used my nesties for the ovals. The sentiment is stamped with black Stazon onto a piece of shrink film and shrunk down. I also tried my hand at some scruffy flowers. They are fun to make, I was happy with the result. The fern is a MS punch.
I hope you will have time to play along with us this week. Don't forget to stop by the High Hopes blog and check out the fabulous creations of the other HH Diva's.

TPE #19 and PBSC ........
Hello everyone;
I hope you all had a great start to your week. Mine was going fine until my DH had an accident in the garage tonight, while fixing up an old riding lawn mower. He wound up in emergency, 4 hours and 17 stitches later, we are now home. I tell ya, boys and their toys!! He is going to be a little sore for a while, but he will be fine.
This week, The Pink Elephant Challenge is "Wedding". I made this project last week and it fits the theme perfectly.
This little wedding cake is made from 3 different size round boxes. Each one is made separately and open individually to hold little gifts. The adorable bride and groom are from The Greeting Farm.
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. Before each box was assembled I stamped different images and swirls with Versa color chateau gray. The DP's are from the Paper Company. The stamps used on the bottom box are hearts from High Hopes. The swirls are from Inque and the bells on the top box came from the set with the bride and groom. The small dots on all boxes are a Stamps by Judith stubby. I have also used some stickles. I made the curls on the top box by using an exacto knife and ruler, cutting just a hair of card stock and it curls itself as you cut it. The flowers are from punches, the sentiment heart also came with the set.
This was a really fun project I hope you like it.
PENNY BLACK SATURDAY CHALLENGE
This week over at the PBSC there is a birthday celebration going on. The challenge is 1 year old and the theme this week is "Celebrations".
I purchased this fab new Penny Black set from The Rubber Room. It is called "Teddy & Company.
To capture the fine details of the image, I stamped the image with Versa fine black and used clear embossing powder. I painted it with Tombows. I stamped, embossed and painted the bird, little bee and the butterfly and cut them out and layered them. The white highlights and dots are done with my Inkssentials pen. I used my nesties for the frame. The DP is from a paper stack by DCWV. I embossed the DP and the blue card stock with a cuttle bug folder. It's hard to see in the pic on the dp, but it looks great in real life, I really like the effect. I also used lots of stickles.
I will be back on Wednesday to share a couple of my Motivet DT cards with you. Until then have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by....

The Pink Elephant Challenge #18
Hello everyone;
I hope your week is going well, I was busy yesterday looking after my DD new puppy, Jackson. He's so adorable...he's a black lab/german shepard cross. He is helping to teach her the value of not leaving your shoes laying around...something she never learned while living at home...LOL!!
My card today is for The Pink Elephant Challenge. The challenge this week is a color challenge....Pink/ Brown/White. I have chosen "Snow" from The Greeting Farm as my image.
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. Her earmuffs and the fur on her jacket and boots is done with white liquid applique and the hand warmer is done with white flocking. I embossed the image with my swiss dot cb folder. The border is done with my EK Success border punch. I cut the ovals with my Fiskars fancy edge scissors. The large snowflake is a MS punch and the the sm one is an EK Success punch. They were looking a little plain so I used a paint brush to add some glue and dipped them in some fine diamond dust. I also added diamond dust to the edge of the pink oval and the bottom borders.
I added a couple of gems and lo and behold...no stickles this time!!
I hope you like it...thanks for stopping by.
Have a great day...

High Hopes Challenge #34
Good morning all;
I hope you are all having a great weekend.
It's time again for the High Hopes Challenge. This week is a fabulous sketch by our super talented Diva, Nikki.
We have had so much rain in the last few weeks and more in the forecast for this week I thought it would be fitting to use adorable " Willard Weather Ant".
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I used my Inkssentials white pen for the highlights. I added some glossy accents to the rain drop and the puddle under his feet. The card has been embossed with a CB folder, as well as the yellow piece. I punched the flowers, layered them and added some white liquid pearls for the centers. I stamped 3 rain drops with black Stazon and printed the sentiment onto a piece of white shrink film and heated it. I also added some stickles.
I hope you have time to play along with us this week, for a chance win some fabulous High Hopes stamps.
Thanks so much for stopping by,
Have a great Sunday....

One Stop Craft Challenge
Good morning everyone;
It looks like a lovely day so far today...I was up with the birds this morning and the sun is shining already.
I have been a GDT for the One Stop Craft Challenge for last week and this week, so pop on over and check out the fabulous cards and maybe join in, this weeks fun challenge is "Under Pressure", embossing.
I have used an image from the Greeting Farm, Rain, Snow, Shine.
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I embossed the card and all the DP with the CB swiss dots. Its a little hard to see in the pic, but the embossing looks really good in RL on the dp. I water colored the edges of the image also with Tombows. I used my MS lace punch for the border. A bit of ribbon, a bow and some dew drops and there you have it...quite and easy quick card.
I hope you like it and have a great day,

The Pink Elephant Challenge #17
Hello everyone;
I am running so behind with my challenges this week, but I finally finished my card for TPE Challenge.
This week is a recipe....3 buttons, 2 layers and a sentiment.
I was in need of a get well card so I have used "Seymore's sick day", "Tail not waggin'" and "dragon prints" from High Hopes.
This card is for a man....so I tried not to do anything too frilly.
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. The card itself was stamped with Perfect Medium and clear embossing powder as well as the cardstock behind Seymore. I used my nesties for the frames and a CB folder for the green cardstock frame. The dp is from Darcie's. I added some perfect pearls white on all his horns and some glossy accents on the thermometer. The dots on his ice pack were done with a Souffle gelly roll pen.
On the inside I cut an acetate tag and stamped the get well with Stazon black and threaded the ribbon through the slots in the tag. The foot prints were embossed with black and painted with Tombows. I cut them out and layered them. I also sponged the edges with Brilliance coffee bean ink.
Thanks so much for stopping by,
Have a great day...

Doraline and a challenge...
Hello everyone;
I can't believe it is the first week of June already...where do the days go. Now that it has stopped raining here in Southwestern Ontario, today was nice and warm. I think its is supposed to be nice for the rest of the week, so I am looking forward to it.
This adorable image is Doraline with accordion from Motivet Rubber Stamps.
The colors and papers are very non-traditional for Christmas, but are some of my favorites from Darcie's.
I stamped the image with Versa fine black and embossed it with clear. I painted it with Tombows. I used my Inkssentials white pen for the highlights. I cut the ovals with my nesties and used a MS punch for the bottom border. The snowflakes and flowers are also punches from MS. I used my pinking scissors for the sentiment
cardstock.
I hope you like the colors I have used for this Christmas card, I just can't force myself to do too many red/green traditional combos just yet...they will have to wait until the end of July...LOL!!

SCRAPMAGASINET Reader Challenge #11
I couldn't resist buying some of these stamps from Scrapmagasinet. I think the images are just too much fun. This months challenge is "Thank You".
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I made the frame by cutting strips of paper and gluing them together. I sponged some white brilliance ink onto the cardstock. The flowers and fern are made with punches. The dots are Adirondack acrylics.
I purchased the Scrapmagasinet stamps from BunnyZoe's ETSY store.

*my main source for products is The Rubber Room and online store.
Have a great day and Thanks for stopping by....
