                                   ADVENT CALENDAR BOOKS

Hey everyone....

It's been longer than I thought since I've been here but
I wanted to share this awesome project. I found this great
tutorial for an Advent Calendar Book and decided to
make them for my grandaughters.

The insides are identical thats why there is
only one picture

I changed the spine size to 3" and adjusted the size
of the boxes from 1" deep to 1.25" deep so a
scrunchie would fit...lol!!

I made all the boxes from white 68lb cardstock
and cut print card stock for each.

Tip: I have found in the many projects I have done
that its hard to get a crisp fold on heavy cardstock
and its my opinion that you can add strength to any
lighter weight cardstock box by gluing layers like
I did here with the print cardstock.
This also applies to multiple layers of die cut
letters, frames etc.

I was really happy with the way they turned out!!

I painted the High Hopes Rubber Stamps
images with Tombow markers.

I used my older circle dies and a set of lower case
letters I bought a few years ago.
I was missing a lot of stuff to even start these books
and being Covid I had to shop for the rest online.
I purchased the heavy chipboard, strong tape,
all the papers and sparkle paper for the box numbers
from a great shop in Windsor, Nova Scotia

I hope you like my advent books and here are

Silly Monsters

Hi everyone.....

I have been playing with these adorable monsters...
from Your Next Stamp "Silly Monsters"
I couldn't resist them....soooo cute!!

I have created a bridge card for my monsters
from a great tutorial by Jennifer Mcguire.
Love all the different fancy folds and design
ideas that Jennifer shares with us!!
Thanks so much!!

I am using 3 of the monsters in the set and
a balloon from my High Hopes stamps. I
embossed all the images and painted them
with Tombows. I used an embossing folder
for the card.

I hope you like it!!

HELLO EVERYONE....

I created this card with a new stamp set from
 Your Next Stamp...."Cool Tees!"

I thought my granddaughter would have
some fun with this set.

This is a birthday card I made
with the little kitty in the set.

I paper pieced the tee shirt and colored
the kitty with Tombows.

I hope you like it!

Hello everyone....

It has been so long since I have blogged I didn't even remember how to do this.....lol!!!
It took me some time  but I think I am in control now!!!

Anyway I have been fooling around with different shaped cards, moving cards and 3D cards.....there are so many awesome designers out there....
Thanks so much for sharing your designs!!

I am not used to small stamps but I needed some for the cards I wanted to create so I checked out  Your Next Stamp!! They had just what I was looking for and it's a great Canadian stamp company too!!

I chose these adorable little owls....Life's a Hoot to make this adorable "pop up shadow box card" designed by
Jennifer Mcguire.

It was really tough getting a good pic to show how fun this card is so I will try to explain it as best I can!!
This pic shows the shadow box effect.

This pic shows what the card looks like closed.

This pic shows how the owls have moved. When you pull on the side tabs the two owls at the top move back and forth. Cute eh!!

I am going to try and add this to the YNS challenge blog so wish me luck....not sure I remember how!!

High Hopes Spring 2016 release day 2

Hello everyone.....

I am back again today for another
High Hopes 2016 Spring Release
sneak peek!!!!

We have an amazing new release
and the image I  am using today is

"With Sympathy"

I just love that the sentiment and image
are all one stamp!!
I embossed the image with black and
painted it with Tombows. I colored and
cut out all the little flowers and leaves
by hand and layered them. Not sure if
you can see the layers in the picture though!
I used a punch for the green backround.

The Tombow markers I used are....
553-533-126-098-N60

Hope you can stop by again tomorrow
for another new stamp sneak peek!!
