Hello everyone;
I can't believe its Friday already and almost March to boot!! I was out in the yard today and was shocked to see little green tips of my lily of the valley pushing up through the soil. Yeeeees!! That is a sure sign of spring on its way. I can usually pick a couple of bouquets by the first or second week of May. Don't want to rush it....but I just love Spring!
This was my first attempt at an acetate card. I really like the look of them so I hope to do some more.
This image is a new one from Magenta, which is a Canadian stamp company.
First I stamped the image with white stazon ink and then stamped a little off the side of the white with black stazon ink. I used my nesties labels for the sentiment.
The butterfly stamp is from Stamp Barn. I stamped them also with black stazon onto the same dp as the sentiment and cut them out and layered them.
Once you know where you want the images its quite a quick and easy card.
Hope you like it.....and Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great Friday....

Penny Black Saturday Callenge #37
GOOD MORNING everyone;
It's going to be a wonderful day...the sun is just beaming in my neck of the woods. A little chilly, but awww..SUN!! I feel like laying on the floor beside Layla...she's all stretched out catchin' some rays from the window. LOL!
I hope you all have a sun filled day, too!
Here is my card for the PBSC #37.
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I stamped and embossed the image twice, layered the flowers and the pot. It looks like I layered his paws too, but I just cut around them, lifted them and slid the pot underneath. I used clear silicone to layer the pieces. I stamped the flower image on the brown card with Perfect medium. I used my MS punch for the bottom border. The sentiment is stamped on acetate with Stazon black. The white centers are drops of liquid pearls. Oh, of course there are some stickles. I made the bow, added some dew drops and Bob's yer uncle, DONE!! Other than the painting...quite a quick card.
I hope you like it...and Thanks for dropping by.
Have a wonderful day...

High Hopes Challenge # 19
Good morning everyone;
I hope you all had a great weekend. We had a blustery one...snow and more snow. Getting a little tired of it all, I truly can't wait for spring!!
This is my card for the High Hopes Challenge #19.
Amy chose sponging for this weeks challenge. Yikes!! Not my strong suit....I really like sponging, just not too good at it. LOL!
This adorable stamp is Burt's Bath.
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. (I'm going to try those copics someday...I swear!! lol) I sponged the background with different color inks from my Versa magic dew drops. I used glossy accents on the bubbles and added some stickles. The DP is from DCWV...the glitter stack. I also used the white pen from Inkssentials. I used my brand new border punch from EK Success..."swiss cheese". The flowers were punched with my hydrengea punch and fern.
I hope you like it.
Have a great day and Thanks so much for stopping by.....

Gift for Layla and an Award
Hello everyone;
I can't beleive I haven't posted anything since Wednesday!! I have been making my blog rounds though...so at least that is something.
I have to share with you a card and gift that Layla got from Gunther and Shotsy....Curt's boys, for Valentines Day. Doesn't she look adorable in her new scarf. I don't think she likes her pic taken though....everytime I went to snap the pic she turned away....little brat!!
Also Gunther is a star.!! He is having a stamp set designed of his likeness called "Gunthers Greetings". How fun is that!! Conrats to Gunther and Curt, as a card Curt had made was the inspiration for the stamp. WTG guys.

It was given to me by my dear friend Sharon. Thank you so much Sharon for giving it to me. I truly appreciate it.
There were no instructions for passing it on, so I will make up my own....LOL!!

AMY
NANCY
PAT
CINDY
TINA
RACH
CURT
Well thats it for today, hopefully next week I will be better organized.

Swinging Shannon
Hello everyone;
I am having a great time playing with my new High Hopes stamps. By the reaction at the store today, there will be a ton of cards with HH images being made this week!!
As most of my blog followers know, it is really hard for me to make a simple card or project. I love anything that is different....fancy folds, containers and especially cards that move. This card is no exception, I knew exactly what I wanted to do as soon as I saw this stamp, "Swinging Shannon". The way I designed this card it actually does swing and spin! I also made a quick little video so you could see her spin....its at the bottom of the post. It turned out a little dark, but pretty good for my first video!
I started out by embossing the images with black and painting it with Tombows. I cut them out and colored the edges. I used my nesties to cut the hole and the large scallop for the frame. It took a bit of measuring to make sure it was all centered. I used my MS border punch for the headers. The sprigs and dots are stamped with Perfect medium. I cut off the stamped rope and replaced it with a piece of jute. I also had to add some weight to the image so it would pull the jute straight, so I glued a long piece of magnet to the back of the front swing. Once I had the swing where I wanted it, I glued the back image on.
On the inside where the swing hangs, I scored a piece of punched cardstock every 1 1/4 inches and made it into a cube. I glued the cube to the center of the card and added the side headers next. Now I couldn't just leave it at that, nooooo I had to go a step further. I took a thingy that you put on the end of your fishing line...you know a swivel that you attach the hook to one end and the line to the other end and it spins. Yea...that thingy. I hope you are all still with me...LOL! I hot glued the end of the jute to the one end of swivel thingy and then hot glued it to the center of the cube. When you open the card right up, Shannon swings and spins!!
You all must be thinking I am a bit nuts by now....but I just love doing these wacky things...hence the name, fits like a glove!!
I am pleased with the way it turned out, I hope you like it.
Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving such wonderful comments. Have a great day.... KAREN x

I'm a little behind.......
Hello everyone;
Cathy here!! I finally had some time this weekend to do some card making. I know you don't see too much of me....but I do exist!!
I was playing around with my new release stamps from High Hopes and I thought I would share the cards I made.
This is the new image "Brayden's Backside".
The image was embossed with black embossing powder and watercolored with Tombows. There is also a wee bit of stickles. I found the piece of leather and a slide in my stash.
This sweet stamp is "Funny Farm".
I watercolored it with Tombows. I used the swiss dot cb folder, added a couple of dew drops and some stickles.
Hope you all have a great day

High Hopes Challenge #18
Hello everyone,
I hope you all had a great weekend. Some of us had a long weekend, which I'm sure you will all agree, was badly needed!! My weekend was extremely busy as the High Hopes new release order was delivered on Saturday afternoon, (to the Rubber Room)and Cathy and I have been getting it ready and on the shelves for Tuesday morning. Crissy (#1artist4highhopes) has outdone herself this time!! These new images are just fabulous!! I couldn't wait to get my hot little hands on them and they were certainly worth the wait. So sorry for neglecting all of my blogging friends this weekend but I will be blog stalking later tonight to see all your wonderful creations.
HHC #18
I had made this set of mini milk cartons and holder up last week in anticipation of getting the new stamps. I wanted to use one of the three pane stamps we were getting. It was a toss up between the three pane farm friends or the three pane Easter. The High Hopes Challenge this week is Easter, soooo the Easter pane it is... Talk about being prepared, EH!
The pattern for this milk carton holder was a gift from my friend, Diane. The bottom holder sections are made separately and glued together. The handle is prepared and added next. When I made up the milk cartons I stamped different images with Perfect medium. I used a carrot, double flower, large flower and a feather.
I embossed the images in black and painted them with Tombows. I painted the lamb with icicle H2o's.I used glossy accents on the noses and of course I added some stickles. I used my scallop nesties for the circles behind the images. Each image was cut out and glued to the borders and I used foam tape behind the borders that attached them to the holder.
This last picture shows how to fill them with candy. I did it different than the pattern. I added a tab to the bottom and used sticky velcro pieces to hold the bottoms together. It worked very well considering the weight of the chocolate. Well there you have it....quite quick and easy to make the holder and milk cartons. The most time involved was painting all the images.
I was quite pleased with the way it turned out. I hope you like it.

LOVE BIRDS
Happy Valentines Day everyone.
I made this card for Valentines day, its not the traditional valentine colors so I think it would make a great wedding card as well. These sweet little love birds are from Inkadinkado.
I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I cut the watercolor paper with my spellbinder dies and only used one other layer, cut with the larger die for the frame. I used a piece of printed vellum over the silver metallic card. I used my MS punch on the dp. Just a few dots of stickles on the bottom and the stars.
Not really too much to it, quick and easy.
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by....

Sunny Summer Smiles
Good morning everyone;
I hope you are all having a great week so far. We are having some nice warm weather this week. So nice to shed those big winter coats.
I made this card for tonights class. You know me, I can't resist fun cards and fancy folds. These stair step cards are the greatest. You can use soooo many different stamp sets, from fun to elegant.
I embossed the images with black and painted them with Tombows. The stamp set is from Impression Obsession. I used pieces of sandpaper for the sand and cut a piece for behind the sentiment. I cut out all the pieces (which was a bit tricky as the are quite small) and I colored the edges with a black marker so no white would be visable from where I cut them out. I then used bits of painters tape to position them. When I had them in the right places I glued them down. I am pretty sure this card is Stickleless.....lol. Is that even a word?
Anyway I hope you like it...I have great fun making it!
Have a great day and Thanks for popping in.....

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #17
Good morning everyone:
A great start to a new week....the sun is actually shinning here! We are in a bit of a thaw, so we can see some grass poking out. It will take forever to get rid of the snowbanks though, but I am sooooo happy to see the sun. I know you must be thinking..."it doesn't take much to please this one!!" LOL Anyway I hope you all have a great Monday.
This is my card for the HHC #17. The challenge this week is a sketch by Katharina, and a fabulous sketch it is.
I embossed this adorable image with black and painted it with Tombows. I also added quite a bit of stickles to this one. I wanted some blue in the ribbon...so I stickled it too. Nothing is safe from me and my stickles...lol! The DP is from DCWV stack. I used my CB folder swiss dots for the blue bazzill piece. The little flowers are punched from my MS hydrangea punch. A few dew drops on the corners and ..voila!
Hope you like it and have a great day.
Thanks for stopping by.....

This is my card for the Penny black Saturday Challenge # 35. The challenge this week is "Romance".
I started this card by stamping with Perfect medium, X and O's and kisses on the black card. It is really hard to see in the picture. I embossed the image with black and painted it with Tombows. I added some stickles and used glossy accents on the roses. I used my MS lace doily punch for the bottom. Not really too much more to it...a few pearls and buttons. a ribbon and bow and there you have it, my take on "Romance".
I hope you like it.

Ismaki Challenge
Hi everyone;
What a busy week it has been so far, days are just flying by. As I was doing my blog stalking, I came across the an awesome card by Nikki. She had made the card for the Ismaki challenge. The challenge was to follow a sketch by Isa. Well, being the curious cat that I am, of course I had to go take a look. It was a fabulous sketch and I knew I just had to play along. Its a bit of a different style for me, but I am happy with the result.
I embossed the images with black and painted them with Tombows. I also added some stickles. These images are from a Nuggitz cube by Sunshine designs. I stamped the background with Perfect medium another stamp by Sunshine designs. The rust piece was stamped with versa fine black and a Hero Arts stamp. I used black Brilliance for the edges and used clear embossing powder to give the piece a framed look. The circles were cut with my nesties.
I hope you like it...thanks for stopping by.

High Hopes Challenge #16
Hi everyone:
I hope your start to the first week of February was a good one.
Here in Southwestern Ontario, our Wiarton Willy (a crazy little groundhog) didn't see his shadow today. Which means 6 more weeks of winter. The only good thing is that the little fellow is only right 39% of the time!! So I am keeping with my thoughts of spring!
This is my card for the HHC #16. The challenge was to use lace on our card.
This adorable stamp is Hanna's Heart. The card is a gate fold.
I embossed her with black and painted her with Tombows. I sewed the lace to the bg square. I stamped, embossed and cut out the purple flower and all the butterflies and layered them. The large brad is the closer for the card front. The flowers were punched from the same bg paper and layered and I added some little pearls. I also added lots of stickles, my favorite embellishment! I used small pieces of black wire for the antenna on ther butterflies.
I added this second pic to show you how it looks open.
I hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.....
